We meet regularly three times each year. The first meeting of the year is held on the second Saturday
of January, with the Social Hour starting at 12:30 P.M. The meeting place is the Waukee Public Library,
950 Warrior Lane, Waukee Iowa. We all look forward to this meeting to visit with old friends and to meet
new friends. Since a few months will have passed since our last lily bloomed, we get together at this meeting
to talk about our successes, failures, and plans for the upcoming growing season. The Business meeting is
followed by a light refreshment, then an educational program on our favorite flower, the Lily. Whether
it's an "out-of-town" expert, or one of our very own, you can count on enjoying a very educational and worthwhile program
at this meeting. Mark your calendar for 12:30 P.M. January 9, 2010. We'll show the highlights of the 2009 garden Tour, discuss the 2010 Garden Tour, the Spring Bulb
Sale, and other topics of lily interest.
For the eighth year in a row, we had a booth at the Iowa Flower, Lawn & Garden Show and Sale. This event was
held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Varied Industries Building. The 2010 Show was held March 19 through
March 21, 2010. In addition to having plenty of information on growing and caring for Lilies, we had a nice selection
of plump, healthy lily bulbs for sale at our Award-Winning booth. Thanks for your support at this fun filled annual event! We had
very successful sales in part due to the enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers that
come and share themselves and their "Lily Knowledge" with the purchasing public. If you are looking for an opportunity to
volunteer a few hours with your Lily Society, this is a fun place to do it!
The Second meeting of the year, our Spring meeting, is held on the third Saturday in April, and starting
time is 12:30pm. The location for the April 2010 meeting is also at the Waukee Public
Library, 950 Warrior Lane, Waukee. The date was April 17, 2010. The educational
program for this meeting is presented either by a guest expert or one of our own members.
A four member hospitality committee provides light refreshments for this meeting.
The Third meeting of the year highlights the Annual Lily Show. (our Summer meeting)The year 2010 marks the 37th consecutive year for
the Iowa Regional Lily Society to host a Lily Show. The Lily Show is always held in a public place with a high volume
of foot traffic to expose and help educate the general public to the various divisions, colors, shapes and fragrance of lilies,
as well as to provide information about the planting and growing of lilies. The 2010 Lily Show will be held
on June 26 and 27 at the Des Moines Botanical Center. Arrangements have been made with the Botanical Center for
free admissions that weekend. See pictures on page 1 of the 2009 Lily Show.
The Annual
Awards Banquet will
be held following the Lily Show on Saturday June 27th 2010 at 6:00pm at the River Walk Cafe at the

Our Annual Garden Tour will
be held June 19, 2010 The tour will include a comfortable coach bus for a tour of
FIVE of the finest Lily Gardens in North-Central Iowa. See

A Fall Meeting has been scheduled for September 11,
2010 at the Waukee Public Library. The start time is 12:30pm. The theme of this educational meeting will
be has yet to be decided. A four member hospitality committee provides light refreshments for this meeting.
Our
Fall Bulb Sale featured the finest quality
lily bulbs available, offered at very reasonable prices. The 2010 bulb sale will be held at the Des Moines
Botanical Center. The date for the sale will be either late September or early October. Watch your Newsletter and this
